Welcome to the home of the Unchurching Podcast

Because when it all starts to fall apart, you need to know: You’re not alone. And there’s just so much more.

We’re Clint and Rachelle, a husband and wife who lived the church life for decades across four countries. We served, led, taught, preached, and believed… until it all stopped fitting.

Unchurching is our honest invitation into the wild, sacred journey beyond religion.

“There’s just
so much
more.”

This is our very real, very lived tagline. Quite simply, it has been our experience of the journey beyond the walls of church and religion, where everything is way bigger than we believed, were taught, and were in a very real way conditioned to practice. It’s worth noting that this understanding is nothing new. On our journey of discovery and awakening, we have learned that thousands of years of organized religious conditioning have kept people from the truth of the divine, and our divinely empowered role in this lifetime. This is our invite for you to join us on this journey of discovery, as we unlearn the narrow, and discover the vast eternal.

It’s not easy leaving something like religion behind. It unhinges many foundational aspects of our lives, unravelling how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. We know this because we’ve lived it. We hope that the insights from our journey will help you navigate yours with confidence.

Unchurching exists to serve as a bridge between what no longer fits… and the freedom, clarity, and connection that’s waiting on the other side.

This podcast isn’t about bitterness or bashing the church. It’s about remembering who you are beyond the programs, pressure, and performances. We’re not experts. We’re just honest, with all the wonder, grief, freedom, and “what the heck do I do with Jesus now?” moments along the way.

Meet your hosts:

We’re Clint and Rachelle—married for 16 years and no strangers to life inside the church.

Clint is a former theologian, minister, and seminary lecturer with over 40 years of church experience, spanning congregations of 30 to 30,000. He’s also worked globally as a radio and TV host. Rachelle is a former professional dancer and choreographer, now specializing in mental performance coaching for elite dance athletes through founding the global initiative, Umbrella Project.

We’ve lived and led in faith communities across South Africa, Dubai, Australia, and the U.S.—until our own awakening journey unraveled everything we thought we knew, and led us to discover what life really holds, aside of the restraints of religion.

“Awakening doesn’t mean rejecting where you came from—it means realizing it was only the first chapter.”

Signs You Might Be Awakening

Leaving religion can feel like stepping into a void—especially when you're not walking to something specific, just walking away from something that no longer fits.

Maybe you’re disoriented.
Maybe you’re waking up.
Either way, you’re not alone.

These are some of the signs many of us experience in the early stages of deconstruction and awakening…

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.

  • You’ve lost interest in religious performance

  • You feel drawn to nature, embodiment, or inner work

  • You’re questioning religious authority or certainty

  • You feel grief, anger, or disconnection after leaving

  • You’re curious about ancient wisdom or expanded spirituality

  • You’re still asking: “Is there more?”

  • You feel spiritually hungry, but no longer resonate with church language

  • You sense your beliefs shifting, but don’t know how to talk about it

  • You’ve been labeled “backslidden” or “rebellious” when you were just growing

  • You feel pressure to keep up appearances, even when it feels hollow

  • You’ve outgrown old spiritual frameworks but haven’t found new ones yet

  • You feel like you’re losing your identity—but also becoming more yourself

We’ve asked those same questions—and we’re walking through them in every episode, and mentoring others on their journey.

Private Conversations

If you’re feeling lost, alone, or unsure what you believe anymore—you’re not broken.
You’re in the middle of something sacred.

(45 minutes — $75)

Whether you’re unraveling religion or navigating a physical awakening, sometimes what you need most is a safe place to talk — a place where someone truly understands what you’re going through.

I’m Clint Davis — a former global church leader, theologian, and communicator with over 40 years of lived church experience across South Africa, Dubai, Australia, and the U.S.
I’ve taught theology, pastored communities, worked in radio and television, and walked alongside countless people through major life transitions.

After leaving Christianity myself and going through an intense physical and spiritual awakening, my calling became clear:
to support people who feel lost, confused, or alone in the unraveling.

In these private conversations, I offer two types of support:

1. Deconstruction & Reconstruction Conversations

For those leaving religion, questioning belief systems, or rebuilding their identity and spirituality.
A space to talk through fear, grief, confusion, and the loss of community — and to explore what faith can look like beyond institutional control.

2. Physical Awakening Conversations

For those experiencing the intense body-based awakening that I’ve personally lived through — the burning, swelling, emotional upheaval, fear, uncertainty, and the feeling that “something is happening” that no one taught you about.
A grounded, empathetic space to help you make sense of the physical transformation, and to feel safe through the process.

These conversations aren’t therapy, coaching, or mentoring —
they are human-to-human guidance, clarity, and support from someone who’s walked this path and understands every layer of it.

If you need a place to talk… to breathe… to not feel crazy…
I’m here.
